thomaz labanca

Thomaz Labanca is a Brazil-born, Sydney-based cinematographer with over a decade behind the camera. A recipient of multiple ACS NSW Awards, he trained at Sydney Film School before rising through the camera department to cinematography. As cinematographer, his feature credits include The Beast in Me with Russell Crowe, and the upcoming comedy/horror The Only One, for the Schwarz Brothers. He was also additional camera on Poker Face (2022) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). In television, he was director of photography on Barons (2022) and Year Of (2023). He has also brought his lens to notable documentaries like Netflix's Fightworld (2018) and National Geographic's Save This Rhino (2019). Thomaz’s signature style blends both his technical skill and innate artistry, along with a gift for visual storytelling. Thomaz's own diverse cultural experience underscores his ability to translate often complex and emotional themes to screen.
